Personal Requirements:

Excellent Physical Health must be able to lift heavy items at times
Keen interest in working with seniors (and seniors with physical limitations and/or dementia)
Comfort in working in a Retirement Residence setting
Have knowledge with, Minor Electrical, Plumbing, Painting and repairs.
Enjoy working in a team environment
Ability to support other departments if needed.
The incumbent performs routine maintenance and minor repairs for the Community and surrounding grounds.

Job Duties:

Duties include but are not limited to:
Painting and patching of a variety of surfaces throughout the community as needed.
General cleaning of swimming pool and maintaining proper levels (will provide training)
Garbage Removal
Window cleaning
Move furniture as assigned
Other assigned work from Maintenance Manager or Manager on Duty.
Perform emergency maintenance repair duties such as plumbing (blocked toilets, leaks etc.).
Sign off on all work orders, maintenance schedules and logs
Adhere to all appropriate workplace regulations, compliances, legislation and company policies and procedures
Maintain, the highest standards of professionalism by following the company dress code and/or wearing the company uniform
Participate in all Health and Safety, Fire Safety, Infection Control
Attend all staff meetings and mandatory training.

Follows the principles of "good customer service" and ensures that these values are demonstrated in day to day practices.
Interact effectively with team members, residents and families as well as external service providers.
Able to follow instruction and work under mínimal supervision.
Demonstrate organizational and time management skills
