To perform the duties of a Housekeeping Aide by providing a clean, safe and pleasant environment for hospital patients, staff and visitors within AHS.

Description:

As an Environmental I, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine tasks associated with the cleaning and disinfecting of clinical and non-clinical healthcare environments.

Your typical duties may include sweeping, mopping and vacuuming, restocking supplies in bathroom facilities and, stripping linen and remaking beds.

This includes replenishing cleaning supplies and linens and identifying and reporting potential hazards to your Working Leader.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. Knowledge and operation of a computer including Microsoft Office.

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements for the duration of your shift.

Physically capable to lift, push and pull up to 22 lbs of force.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy loads. Must be fluent in English. Good communication, interpersonal skills, auditory acuity; manual and finger dexterity; motor coordination a necessity. Must be capable of frequently lifting 22.5kg. Must be capable of pushing/pulling heavy carts up to and occasionally exceeding 225 kg. Good interpersonal skills required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of hospital equipment and procedures is an asset. Previous experience in Health Care cleaning an asset.
