Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance Operations Support in Montreal, the Technical Advisor will provide technical support to the maintenance team, monitor the performance of rolling stock and identify and record reliability and safety issues.
Responsibilities:
Support activities:
- Provide technical support to Maintenance Center;
- Support employees for the interpretation of procedures and documentation;
- Identify training needs as required;
- Be occasionally on call to support equipment maintenance;
- Participate in crisis management strategies as required.
Equipment performance:
- Review delays/train notes, Wi-Tronix data and Elogbook defects with E.M team every day.
Maintenance reliability activities:
- Assist in delay root cause analysis and in determining preventive or corrective actions;
- Review remote monitoring and other data prior to train arrival and establish a repair/investigation strategy;
- Help reduce costs of operations.
Maintenance program:
- Review and process request for documentation and component changes while providing the link between Technical Services and Maintenance Centers;
- Prepare drafts of maintenance program documentation.
Project support:
- As required, assist quality control specialist, on specific project or program. Give technical Support (documentation, task, material, schematic, report any issues to engineering) as required.
Requirements:
- Technical diploma/Certification in electrical discipline or equivalent;
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with railway equipment;
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft office, Word and Excel;
