Description

Alavida Lifestyles is looking for an
Temporary Full Time Memory Care Activities Assistant/Aide (Maternity Leave Coverage) for our retirement residence located in
Central Park - Ottawa, ON.

They will assist in the planning and implementation of recreational programs for Residents under the direction of the Recreation Manager.

Must be available to work occasional weekends.

RESPONSIBILITIES_

Organize supplies and equipment as needed
Set up program area as needed
Keep attendance and document Resident participation in activities
Encourage Residents to attend programs and assists them to and from programs
Work closely with the Recreation Manager and other staff on the floor to provide relevant memory care programming to residents with dementia
Performs other duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS_

Experience working with elderly population and with individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's.
Highly organized and able to work independently.
Certifications related to the target population considered an asset (ex. DementiAbility)
Education in leisure services or related field considered an asset
Must have a passion for working with seniors
