Rate of Pay:
$25.56 per hour and increments in accordance with the terms of the Collective**
Agreement

JOB SUMMARY:

To provide group and individual job training, support, monitoring and follow-up for clients with developmental
disabilities and employers; to participate in the referral, intake, assessment, vocational counselling and planning for
program clients; to promote and market the program and develop appropriate employment opportunities within
community business; to provide group and individual training, support, monitoring and follow-up for clients in the
program and employers.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum Diploma in a related human service field and one year recent experience in developing employment
opportunities for people with a mental disability or an equivalent combination of education, training and
experience

  • Responsiveness and sensitivity to the needs of persons with disabilities (in 1:1 or Group setting); strong
community living values and good organizational skills are a must

  • Skilled in job development and training/coaching people with a mental disability in a vocational setting
  • Sound understanding of the concepts of Supported Employment and sensitive to the needs of persons with

- developmental disabilities
  • Ability to conduct individual employment needs assessments, and develop, implement and monitor individual
- service plans for clients
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully market employment options for the target group and effectively train
- persons in an employment setting
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to working effectively with diverse populations
  • Group facilitation and curriculum development experience

- general
  • Initiative, creativity, effective planning and time management skills, and ability to work with mínimal supervision

Valid First Aid/CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification; Mandt System Training an asset:

  • Class 5 BC Driver's License; Reliable personal vehicle with business insurance and $3,000,000 third-party
- legal liability insurance required
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating system, MS Word and Excel
  • Medical certificate of health and immunization record
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating system and MS Word; familiarity with an electronic case
- management system is preferred

  • Successful Criminal Record Check




HOURS OF WORK:
17.5 hrs/week
; Monday to Friday, with occasional weekends as per program needs. Must be
prepared to work flexible hours as authorized by the Program Coordinator to accommodate program/client needs.
