The
Facilities team is comprised of over 300 trades personnel and service workers that provide trusted services and stewardship in support of teaching, learning, and discovery.

This team is responsible for operations, maintenance, service, utilities distribution, and customer support. The Facilities Team Charter describes the purpose, vision, and values that in turn support the campus community.


Primary Purpose:

To provide proactive cleaning services to the University of Saskatchewan campus with a focus on exceeding the expectations of students, faculty, research, administration, and visitors.


Typical Duties/Accountabilities:

Performing cleaning tasks as assigned, included but not limited to cleaning washrooms (and all related fixtures), common areas, cleaning floors (use of dry and wet mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners, automatic scrubbing machines and other related equipment) providing cleaning services in other areas as required to cover absences of other caretaking staff; reporting building deficiencies; securing the building after hours; providing efficient, courteous customer service to the university community and visiting public when circumstances require.


Qualifications

Experience:

Minimum one (1) year Caretaking and/or cleaning experience in an institutional/hospitality setting, and experience working safely with chemicals and power cleaning equipment are considered assets.

Customer and teamwork experience essential.


Skills:

Basic English reading, verbal and written communication skills at the appropriate level for the position; effective interpersonal and communication skills; customer oriented; familiarity with the appropriate power equipment; attention to detail; ability to work well independently and with others as part of a team; demonstrated ability to adapt to changing tasks and work environments; physical requirements such as being able to lift and move 25 lbs, and standing, walking, bending, moving for extended periods of time; and time management skills.

Salary:
The salary range, based on 1.0 FTE, is $ per hour. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
