ABOUT THE JOB:


The Operations Department ("OPER") ensures the operational processing and control of activity across all Global Banking and Investor Solutions ("GBIS") business lines (Capital Markets, ex-Newedge & Financing).

OPER implements all necessary means to ensure the operational, administrative, and financial processing of capital markets and credit operations initiated by these business lines.

In addition, OPER ensures the control and security of transaction processing in accordance with current financial regulations while acting as the first level of control on operations and booking quality.

OPER provide all necessary support during the lifecycle of the transaction, perform Know Your Customer processing, and provide general client relationship management.

OPER also acts to steer the evolution of regulatory projects and controls our external service providers.


The Counterparty Collateral Management team works to reduce counterparty risk by negotiating and administering collateral annex provisions for all master agreements (derivatives, repo, securities lending, clearing, prime brokerage, etc.).

The collateral annex defines the acceptable collateral, calculation rules for each asset type, how custodial relationships are handled, and what actions are to occur during an event of a default or other termination event.

The Cross-Asset Collateral and Risk negotiation team is responsible for providing the operational feasibility review during the legal negotiation, regulatory compliance, and controls where applicable, and input and validation of agreements in the relevant databases and investigating any disputes or regulatory inquiries.

We are a cross-regional team with hubs in India, Paris, and New York.


What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?

  • Contract Management
  • Ensure the accuracy of the contract set up in the referential systems (Input and validate collateral annexes for various master agreement types as well as for extracontractual operational data for collateral management, accounting, and reporting workflows)
  • During master agreements negotiation, give feedback on the operational feasibility of the CSA contract terms to internal parties as needed
  • Participate in global effort for the creation/update of procedures for negotiation and operational controls
  • Assist margin managers with any review of disputes that may require contract review or perform a system update in the event of entry error or contract activation/deactivation
  • Take actions as directed by LEGAL and RISQ when counterparty triggers a default or termination event, including initial notification to internal groups
  • Capability to challenge existing workflows, write business requirements
  • Fulfill quality controls, as well as audit or information requests from Inspection and regulators
  • Data review and remediation of contract data in the databases as required
  • Offshore Oversight on Migrated Processes / Process improvements
  • Define controls to mitigate risk due to operational gaps
  • Write procedures and provide crosstraining to team members (operating modes)
  • Relay to the team/IT any issues found daily to identify and implement process improvements
  • Identify processes that can be performed by our offshore support team.
  • Projects/Database Support
  • Participate in new business development and regulatory reform that impact collateral management
  • Work with local/global teams to develop workflows for new products, whether automated or manual.
  • Define controls as required on new business / migrations / projects
  • Actively participate in defining prioritization of database releases/enhancements with a focus on process improvement by liaising with local and global counterparts and IT support
  • Write procedures (operating modes) and suggest process improvements and new KPIs/KRIs.
Assist and/or cross-train managers and team members worldwide

Must Have:
Technical Skill


  • Good knowledge of repo, derivatives, and Collateral Management
  • Strong analytical, problemsolving, and organizational skills
  • Strong accounting and financial analysis skills
  • Familiarity with banking procedures, loan, and payment systems
  • Familiarity with legal documentation including CSAs, MSFTAs, MRAs Sec Lending agreements and clearing agreements.
  • Excellent organizational and work documentation skills
  • Ability to maintain an awareness of changing market conditions and the relevant impact on clients.
  • Ability to interact in a mature and professional manner when interfacing with clients, team members and other SG departments
  • Computer literate, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
