Coin Room Machine Operator - Winnipeg, Canada - City of Winnipeg
Description
Under the supervision of the Revenue Supervisor, the Coin Room Machine Operator receives and processes revenues received from Transit buses, parking meters and other City departments; sorts, checks, weighs and records transit bus tickets; and receives delivery of and shelves transit products.
As the Coin Room Machine Operator, you
will:
- Receive and process revenues received from Transit buses.
- Assist in preparing fare product for distribution.
- Receive and process revenues received from parking meters and other City departments.
- Receive delivery of and shelf products and supplies.
- Serve as back up to and perform the duties of the Road Courier position as required.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties related to the position.
Your education and qualifications include:
- High school education (Grade 12 diploma or GED). An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Cash handling or inventory experience.
- Proficiency using tools such as Microsoft Excel and calculators to make accurate calculations and accurately record figures.
- Ability to safely perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Good organization and time management skills including the ability to approach work in a methodical manner.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, make independent decisions and work efficiently.
Conditions of employment:
- The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful applicant possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.
- Must hold and maintain a valid Class 5 Manitoba driver's license and be able to drive a City vehicle within the City of Winnipeg in various environmental conditions.
- Must hold and maintain a Police Information Check satisfactory to the employer.
- Must be physically able to carry out duties of the position which includes moderate heavy lifting.
- Must be able to wear/utilize required safety equipment (hearing protection, smock, etc.) and provide own steel toe footwear.
