    The Director of Academic Programming and EDI is a full-time continuing position that will provide direct support to the Office of the Provost and Vice-President, Academic (PVPA) and will serve as an advisor to the PVPA on issues related to strategic academic programming and EDI strategies, cyclical reviews and quality assurance, and institutional projects.

    The PVPA is the university's chief academic officer reporting to the President and is responsible for the creation and implementation of the academic priorities for the University and for the allocation of resources that will support those priorities.


    The successful candidate will be responsible for the oversight of teaching and learning initiatives and will serve as a resource /representative for internal committees and advisory groups related to academic programming.


    Works directly with the PVPA to support the collection, analysis, and reporting mechanisms related to academic priorities, internal processes, and program management.

    Develops reporting to provide information for academic programs and initiatives.
    Works on identifying best EDI practices and proposing implementation.

    Liaises with the Deans and Directors regarding academic programming protocols and regulations; Works under the direction of the PVPA to develop analysis of provincial outcomes-based funding approaches and other accountability measures.

    Responsible for addressing outcomes of the academic plan and working directly with provincial officials on new initiatives.
    Advises on academic program matters that relate to strategic initiatives and program planning.

    Advises on the development of new program proposals at the undergraduate and graduate level and oversees the supporting documentation and proposal development processes.

    Provides ongoing support and advice for priority projects.
    Plans, organizes, and implements research projects related to strategic academic programming and priority projects.
    Develops, tracks and reports on key performance indicators used to monitor progress against strategic goals.
    Conducts environmental scans and literature reviews on academic programs, strategic initiatives, policies, and program accreditation models.
    Participates on internal committees and external working groups related to academic programming and governance activities.
    Prepares reports to the Board of Regents and Senate on academic programming and strategic initiatives.
    Coordinates external requests for data and reporting on academic matters.
    Advise and liaise with the Dean/Directors on internal and provincial processes related to the PVPA office.
    Reviews, assesses, and provides direction and performance management to the Coordinator, Academic Programming and EDI
    educational administration, social sciences, mathematics or statistics).

    At least five years' experience involving statistical research, review, analysis, interpretation and reporting including work with institutional assessments, research and planning functions.

    Advanced knowledge of principles, practices, procedures, theories, models and techniques involved in the research, collection, analysis, interpretation and reporting of statistical data.

    Previous supervisory or management experience, preferably in a post-secondary educational setting.
    Experience communicating complicated statistical information in plain language and developing visual presentations, such as infographics.
    Experience working with a large database or data warehouse.

    Knowledge of the post-secondary system in Canada and/or experience working in a University or College setting would be an asset.

    Extensive knowledge of academic quality assurance processes and regulations (cross-provincial understanding of quality assurance processes is an asset).
    Extensive knowledge of evaluative research design and analysis.

    Knowledge of best practices in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) within a post-secondary environment; implementing these practices into the workplace.

    Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and other stakeholders to advance EDI initiatives.

    Ability to work well with a variety of people to understand their needs, understand where data is located and how best to report it.
