Canadian Tire is looking for an Associate Vice President, IT Governance and Automation to drive the processes, controls and automation which will enable the IT organization to deliver value to our internal and external customers.

The AVP, IT Governance and Automation will work across the Technology team and closely with Audit and Risk to ensure effective, lean and secure delivery of new IT capabilities.

What you'll do

  • Ensure alignment between IT governance and all corporate policies and how they enable day to day activities and demands. This includes defining and measuring the metrics that demonstrate the effectiveness of the governance.
  • Ensure the adoption, effectiveness and currency of our IT General Controls and overall IT Governance; following defined enterprise standards and to meet the needs of the organization
  • Definition of SRE practices and how automation is leveraged across IT.
  • Lead the Continuous Integration and Deployment practice
  • Work closely with the Technology team to evolve and optimize governance
  • Provide visibility to the executive team on the health of the governance and controls. As well as demonstrating the achieved benefits of automation
  • Custodian of the integrated IT Automation roadmap
  • Define and evolve the team's objectives, and report on key success metrics to show the overall health of the systems, measure progress, and identify areas for further improvement / investment

What you bring

  • 10+ years' experience in technology environment with progressive leadership roles, preferably in retail, banking, and/or automotive sectors.
  • Demonstrated experience in defining and managing effective IT general controls, architecture governance and cloud governance. Along with experience in using automation to improve the effectiveness of the controls to drive efficiencies.
  • Experience with both waterfall and agile delivery governance
  • Experience leading through large scale organizational transformation
  • Understanding of audit policies and practices
  • Ability to exercise effective independent judgment to deliver business results in a fastmoving, highpressure environment with competing priorities
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to build credibility and collaboration, including developing effective crossorganizational and vendor relationships
  • Ability to inspire, remove roadblocks, and coach technical teams to reach their full potential
  • Comfortable using data to inform decisionmaking process and ability to translate business objectives into technical solutions
