In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will provide financial, analytical and related administrative services to the OPP Business Management Bureau (BMB) in the areas of controllership, fiscal and risk management, forecasting, financial planning, FTE controllership, procurement, monitoring and reporting to ensure an effective modern controllership while adhering to applicable OPP, Ministry and Government directives, policies and procedures.

The Section manages a broad range of financial activities including budgets and forecasts; accounting; and relocation. Financial Services staff aim to provide quality service, guiding our clients through the many processes required by government.

What can I expect to do in this role?: To provide financial, analytical and related administrative services to the OPP Business Management Bureau (BMB) in the areas of controllership, fiscal and risk management, forecasting, financial planning, FTE controllership, procurement, monitoring and reporting to ensure an effective modern controllership while adhering to applicable OPP, Ministry and Government directives, policies and procedures.


How do I qualify?:


Mandatory:
Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of financial and management accounting and auditing principles and practices as defined by Generally Accepted Accounting principles, policies, procedures and financial and procurement policies and directives.

Knowledge of financial and business best practices to provide substantive input and advice to bureau managers.


Knowledge of current analytical and financial planning and reporting standards and practices, evaluation review techniques, computer tools, quality assurance and modern controllership to provide expert business advice and consultation on financial and controllership issues.


Presentation and oral communication skills to present analyses, estimates and forecasts and to make recommendations regarding options and strategies to bureau management.

Interpersonal skills to work with staff at all levels and with internal and external partners.

Written communication skills to prepare correspondence, reports, and other materials.


Planning, coordination, and organizational skills are required to manage/coordinate annual estimates, forecasts, procurement and transfer of assets and budgets for the bureau.
