Under the direction of the Manager, Occupational Health Safety & Wellness (OHSW) the Safety Assistant provides support to the OHSW team
Activities include:
respiratory protection (FIT testing) education and training, and assistance with all occupational health and safety related activities within the Northern Zone.
About You:
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Post-Secondary diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- Undergraduate degree is an asset.
- Training, and/or previous experience with quantitative fit testing equipment
- Welldeveloped abilities and skills in modern office practices.
- Demonstrated strong organizational and team skills with emphasis on decision making, problem solving, motivational and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively determine daytoday priorities and utilize foresight to ensure appropriate activities for self and recommendations for team members.
- Ability to work effectively during periods of high activity and with varying personality styles and tasks. Demonstrates resilience and maintains effectiveness. Flexible in creating and suggesting alternative solutions to meet goals.
- Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to effectively meet and communicate in situations requiring tact and poise. Proficiency in drafting detailed procedures, letters, reports, etc.
- Actively listens and conveys understanding of customers' requests such that their needs can be anticipated and satisfied. Welldeveloped abilities with respect to problem solving required.
Hours:
- Permanent Fulltime position; 75 hours biweekly
- Travel to various sites may be required.
Compensation and Incentives:
$ $26.98 Hourly
