The Canada Games Centre is a national leading multi-purpose recreation and sport facility and is a major gathering place for the community.

Together, we inspire healthy Active Living.

Position Summary:

The Canada Games Centre is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who operates the facility through a management agreement with Halifax Regional Municipality.

The Board of Directors are collectively accountable for the performance of the organization in relation to its mission and strategic objectives, and for the effective stewardship of the financial and human resources of the organization.

Board members are responsible for acting in the best interests of the organization, striving to fulfill the mission and achieve the objectives set out.

Principle Duties:

Prepare for, attend, and participate in board meetings and subcommittee meetings
Monitor the performance of the organization
Approve the budget and monitor financial performance
Keep informed about community activities relevant to the Society

Time Commitment:
3-4 hours/month (meetings, preparation, consultation)
