As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator in support of both nursing staff and the multi-disciplinary clinical team.

You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development.

You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice.

You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:


A minimum of 7 years clinical frontline nursing experience in Seniors Health (home care, supportive living and/or long-term care, palliative care).

A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience. A minimum of 5 years' experience providing staff education. Computer competence with Microsoft Office suite, virtual meeting venues (TEAMs, ZOOM etc.), Meditech or Connect Care. Certification or advanced education in an appropriate clinical specialty e.g., Canadian Nurses Association certification in Community Health, Gerontology, NSWOC and/or Hospice Palliative Care).


Preferred Qualifications:

Continuing Care Case Management experience. Case Management Level 2; PIECES and/or Supportive Pathways Training. LEAP education. Evidence of previous education development or continuous learning. Resource development. Program or education development.
