The role will focus on entrepreneurship awareness, education and support for women.

The Outreach Specialist will outreach and support delivery of entrepreneurship skills training services across the province of Ontario, provide the tools, opportunities and wrap around support to women to enhance their entrepreneurship skills and understanding.

The Outreach Specialist will build capacity with various stakeholders to better understand entrepreneurship paths and support women to access and consider entrepreneurship as a viable and potential option and for existing women entrepreneurs, offering further supports.


In this role, you will:


  • Develop and administer surveys, managing data collection of statistics and outcomes
  • Input, maintain and update member information and outcomes in a timely manner for data collection
  • Consult with team members, community partners and participate in program advisory as needed
  • Ensure selfmanagement of program targets related to the program delivery and outcomes; complete and maintain data as per the YMCA quality standards
  • Connect with participants and other services and resources as required, brokering services wherever relevant; seek to create and maintain partnerships with relevant service agencies through community outreach and marketing
  • Update and create resources, such as program curriculum, portals, online and printed guides as needed
  • Provide awareness, training and opportunities related to entrepreneurship, both in person and online, offer training seminars to include an overview of processes needed by women to make an educated choice in regards of entrepreneurship.
  • Facilitate information sessions introducing and include regulations, options and essential skills needed for entrepreneurship.
  • Conduct extensive outreach to create and facilitate networking opportunities locally, regionally and nationally as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

You bring:


  • University degree or college diploma (or equivalent) in Education, Career Planning, Employment Counselling, Social/Community Work or other related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with participants on onetoone and groups as needed
  • Excellent editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to draft and design clear and compelling communication
  • Experience with outreach activities and strategies, including community engagement, group facilitation and presentations
  • Ability to network build and maintain relationships
  • Experience with creating and facilitating presentations; leading virtual and in person education webinars, as well as hosting focus groups is required
  • Knowledge of entrepreneurship an asset
  • Ability to conduct research and conduct literature reviews
  • Ability to work in an efficient manner with a high degree of independence
