Position Information:
In collaboration with the Director of Planning, the Redevelopment and Space Officer (RSO) will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the areas of space planning, design and project facilitation across all campuses and satellite offices.
Responsibilities include:
- Investigate space request needs and provide high level schematic proposals for programmatic space optimization using AutoCAD
- Develop projections for space requirements by reviewing statistical data and operational flows while adhering to standards
- Lead the design process, collaboratively with client and internal/external stakeholders
- Manage design details with clients and develop detailed equipment lists and budgets associated
- Responsible for the selection of materials and finishes for all capital projects in alignment with the developed finishes standards
- Identify potential operations impacts during construction and develop mitigation plans
- Prepare and communicate project updates and phasing documentation for leaders and project participants
- Ensure drawing and project documents are up to date within archive software
Rotation/Shifts:
Days, 8 hour shifts.
Basic Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Architecture or Design Related Field;
- Previous experience with project implementation, coordination and management;
- Experience in the health care setting for design development and functional programming;
- Understanding of architectural drawings and project management processes;
- Familiarity with Hospital Programs and Practices and health care delivery models;
- Knowledge of current hospital design standards and best practices;
- Familiarity with procurement processes;
- Experience with AutoCad;
- Strong interpersonal relationship building;
- Clear and concise communication skills, writing and analysis;
- Ability to develop project schedules and establish program timelines in order to meet objectives;
- Project management and team coordination skills;
- Eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree;
- Project Management Certification;
- LEAN Certification.
