As a result, a digital lab is part of the office for personal development and design development to meet client needs.

Deliver DPS design solutions

Equipment and Design specifications, vendor bid evaluation, factory acceptance testing, vendor drawing review

Deliver HV/ MV designs; single lines, layouts, BOMs, schematics, wiring Renewable power designs

System studies:
Short circuit, load flow, interconnection, protection and control, arc flash and others

Provide expertise and guidance to both BBA's clients and project teams

Conduct technical reviews and oversee engineering and design activities

Lead projects; Proposal development, design development, design basis, detail design

Day to day execution of technical and strategic mandates based on areas of expertise and in coordination with BBA's internal disciplines located across Canada.

Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders in the renewables, industrial and electricity sectors across Canada and abroad.

Support execution of the strategy and action plan.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

Engineering degree or technologist diploma from a recognized institution and registered as a Professional in Canada, within electrical or electronics disciplines.

A suitable combination of qualification(s) in a relevant field and applicable experience is considered.

At least 8+ years of professional experience, specializing in Protection Systems

Experience within large industrial, power generation and utility settings with interconnected, networked equipment

Demonstrated experience with different vendors and different protection schemes

Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills

Extraordinarily versatile and broad - thrives on a wide variety of tasks and challenges

Proven knowledge of project management practices

Working knowledge of electrical design standards (CSA, IEEE, ANSI/IEC)

Asset:
Demonstrated experience within a digital solution setting

Asset: 2+ years experience with IEC supporting and developing device logics, relay configuration files, data sheets within a digital substation solution

Asset:
Experience within large industrial, power generation and utility settings with interconnected, networked equipment

Asset:
Hands-on experience with construction support, commissioning and testing within a greenfield & brownfield setting

Asset:
Active participation in technical or industrial organizations
