The Regional Sales Representative (Western Canada) will be responsible for building relationships and profitable sales growth with Electrical Distributors within their sales territory.

They achieve this goal by driving sales of a portfolio of Wire & Cable products, TCAS (Tools, Components & Assembled Solutions) and Services in support of the ONE Southwire business strategy.

While working directly for the Regional Sales Manager (Western Canada), this individual will be responsible for managing their sales territory and working closely with the agent sales force to advance the business objectives identified within the multi-year strategic plan.


  • Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategically develop customer targets and plan to execute sales goals via agent sales force or direct
  • Build effective customer relationships with agents and Electrical Distributors within the assigned sales territory
  • Provide market intelligence as necessary to assess the various market size(s) applicable to Western Canada
  • Identify sales opportunities to "Drive Mix" with new customers, products, or services.
  • Provide field support for Southwire Solutions through sales calls and training opportunities.
  • Make Southwire the supplier of choice to all targeted customers, and increase volume sales and profit margin
  • Effectively utilize Salesforce or other CRM software to track project opportunities and success.
  • Proactively manage all aspects of territory including customer and sitevisits
  • Collaborate with other functions within the corporation and customer organization
  • Perform well in a team environment as well as work independently with little direct supervision
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Regional Sales Manager
  • Qualifications and Experience Requirements
  • An undergraduate degree/diploma and/ or 7+ years industry experience directly related to wire and cable sales required
  • 5 + years directly related experience in commercial construction, project management, or electrical projects
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Applications including Excel, PowerPoint and Word is required. Sales Force and SAP experience preferred
  • Applicant must possess excellent organizational and project management abilities, along with exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Requires strong financial understanding with analytical skills to work through complex issues in all areas of the business.
  • Must possess excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Requires a team player attitude continuously articulated in a well thought out vision and effective communication.
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to continuously develop competencies of both self and others.
  • Flexibility and ability to handle multiple tasks with the ability to work around deadlines
  • Requires up to 60% travel either independently or with agent sales force throughout assigned territory.
  • Written and verbal fluency in the English & French languages would be an asset.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. and be able to travel (50% 70%).
