- Collaborate with the Research Unit team to keep the Office informed about current issues affecting Ontarians, legislative changes, and other updates relevant to their work.
- Contribute to identifying audit candidates and potential issues for future performance audits, utilizing different research methods to support various audit reports.
- Summarize research findings effectively for audit teams and senior management, producing research papers for publication.
- Support the Auditor General and senior management with research tasks.
- Requires a Master's degree (MA, MPA, MPH, MBA, LLM, or equivalent) or a Ph.D. in areas like public policy, public administration, political science, or law.
- Minimum of three to four years of experience in research or public policy.
- Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Must be proactive, able to work independently and in a team.
- Advanced knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research techniques.
- Familiarity with government and public sector research sources and practices.
- Experience in areas like law, social services, infrastructure, etc., is advantageous.
- Excellent judgment and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adjust research focus as needed.
