2023 Summer Student - Personal and Commercial Banking - Associate (4 months)


What is the opportunity?


As an Associate in the Business Financial Services (BFS) Thought Leadership team, you will support all aspects of the BFS Thought Leadership strategy including leading portions of the content development process and content distribution strategy.

You will also support the development of a lead generation strategy for RBC's "Beyond Banking" product suite, anchored with a newly created commercial banking role.


What will you do?

  • Research, analyze, and develop content on relevant industries (agriculture, technology, advanced manufacturing, supply chain, retail, etc.), industry trends, and other topics affecting the broader economy including inflation, supply chain disruption, labor markets, etc. For this rotation, climate and sustainability solutions applied to Commercial Real Estate, Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Supply Chains will be prioritized content.
  • Support the content delivery strategy by providing recommendations and assisting with content design for online channels and by supporting live event delivery from a content perspective.
  • Analyze various external data sources to generate insights, synthesize findings, and make recommendations: sources will include Statistics Canada, RBC Economics, Statista, Industry Reports, and other data sources as required.
  • Participate in the content development process turning research and insights into digestible Thought Leadership content; create whitepaper and article outlines, reviewing drafts, editing data charts and infographics, etc.
  • Conduct research and analysis and provide recommendations to generate an effective 'Leads Strategy'.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:


  • Minimum of 1 year of Undergraduate Studies, preferably in Business, Economics, Journalism, Marketing, or other related discipline
  • Strong research, writing and communication skills
  • Interest in the Canadian and global economy, business trends, including business sustainability, and other topics relevant to Canadian business owners

Nice to have:


  • Experience working with statistics or economic data
  • Experience in project management or business strategy
