Description

Bodwell High school is a private boarding school located in North Vancouver, offers grades 8-12 to students from over 40 countries. We are currently seeking an Experience Cook to join our team.

Excellent staff benefits. Free onsite staff parking and no late nights. Our closing shift ends at 7:30pm.


Requirements and responsibilities:


  • Minimum five years' wellrounded experience in all areas of the kitchen, including one as First Cook in a fastpaced, high volume kitchen
  • Knowledge and experience with West Coast cuisine. Experience in ethnic cuisines a bonus
  • Excellent knife skills
  • Valid Food Safe certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English. A second language is an asset
  • Prep and cook quality meals in large volume and serve in timely and hygienic manner
  • Operate institutional kitchen equipment in a safe and proper manner, and properly clean after every use
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Receive and organize stocks
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position: Repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, constant standing etc.
  • Reliable, well mannered, work clean, organize and ability to multitask
  • Available to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time


Pay:
$23.00-$25.00 per hour

  • North Vancouver, BC V7P 3S4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:


  • Cooking: 5 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
