Description
Supervise a team performing production function(s).

Responsibilities may include supervising daily operations, developing and analyzing reports, making operational changes, and ensuring production targets and metrics are met for the function(s).


Responsibilities:


  • Supervise function(s) of the production and manufacturing process that typically involves a single or less complex product line(s), ensures resources and personnel are available and allocated to meet operational demand, responds to employee and management questions and concerns, and monitors product quality.
  • Develop, analyze and review a variety of operational reports within the function(s) to improve quality, efficiency, cycle times, and volumes, and implements operational changes as required.
  • Develop SOP and JSA to ensure the efficient use of resources, maintain a safe environment, and produce quality products.
  • Ensure production schedules, quality initiatives, safety targets, efficiency metrics, and other operational measurements are met for the function(s).
  • Ensure compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Work with other plant supervisors or management to review production quality, safety, and other operations, implement department activities, and solve operational problems.
  • Assist with reviewing and coordinating general plant operations with shipping, scheduling, inventory management, maintenance, and sales activities by reviewing reports and operations and other information as required or directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Lead and participate in investigations and problemsolving activities.
  • Ensure safety and quality as core values.
  • Operate with integrity and handle issues with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Perform applicable production and processing activities.

Required:


  • 5 years of production experience
  • High school graduate or equivalent education. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Operations Management may be substituted in lieu of experience.
  • Experience leading others.
  • Good communication (verbal and written) with the team and coworkers to provide clarity when issues arise and receive direction. In addition, effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Experience determining and solving problems with the ability to interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, verbal, schedule form, etc.
  • Change Management experience.
  • Approachable and adaptable with ability to motivate employees and continuously improve morale.
  • Lead team to meet monthly production and operational targets.
  • Experience collaborating across other functions and team.
  • Investigate and resolve production problems using various tools and experience.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use their hands to handle or feel.
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth, perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and/or overtime when needed.

Currently, rotating shifts change every other week.

  • Shift A = M-F: 7am 3pm
  • Shift B = M-Th: 3pm 1am

Preferred:


  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • SAP preferred.
