The General Manager for ANDRITZ Feed & Biofuel Canada with direct reporting line to the Regional Director North America is responsible for all aspects of the regional facilities including profitability and growth.

They will manage the operations to achieve objectives in production, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction while adhering to ANDRITZ's standards and modeling ANDRITZ's core values and behaviours - please review.

Responsibility includes all operational activities out of the ANBO facility to drive high customer satisfaction.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage all aspects of the organization' Canadian activities to achieve objectives that improve ANDRITZ Feed & Biofuel Canada's (AFBC) competitiveness and profitability.
  • Lead and manage the AFBC business while remaining aligned with set targets and business processes and specifically, the global selling of ANBO products and developments.
  • Work in partnership with the Sales Team to ensure that all relevant business segments, products, and services are promoted.
  • Implement approved short and longterm strategies.
  • Develop the organization to operate safely, lean, and efficient while ensuring customer deadlines are met.
  • Ensure that company processes and policies are implemented and adhered to.
  • Effectively understand and analyze our customer's technical, commercial, and financial needs to negotiate winwin solutions.
  • Participate in the negotiation of important and large AFBC contracts.
  • Participate in the development and management of AFBC budgets and performance.
  • Complete and submit monthly reporting in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Participate in monthly regional business review.
  • Provide yearly and midterm planning forecasts.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules, including overtime required.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Develop, implement, and promote changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Strengthen workforce to secure longterm sustainable business operations.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist employee in solving work problems.
  • Conduct daily/weekly "tool box talks/meetings" with employees regarding priorities, safety, corrective actions, productivity, etc.
  • Promote knowledge sharing throughout AFBC as well as across the global organization.
  • Lead through management and mentorship, while embodying, fostering, and enforcing ANDRITZ values and principles.
  • Show strong leadership by setting clear expectations and developing the skills and competencies of the AFBC employees.
  • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Experience working in matrix structure
  • Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting
  • Working experience in the Feed & Biofuel industry an asset (Animal Feed, Pet Food, Extrusion, Biomass, Waste, Aftermarket)
  • Availability to travel both domestically and internationally (up to 50% of working time)
  • Networking with internal and external stakeholders in the relevant industry
  • Language skills:
  • English fluency (must have)
  • Canadian French an asset
