Our Brampton location is presently looking for
Steward, Lab

Duties and responsibilities

  • Washing of glassware, pots and pans for R&D Laboratory and PD laboratories
  • Restocking glassware and supplies used in the laboratory.
  • Maintenance of the lab dishwasher and calling in service reps as required.
  • Participate in the initiation of R&D Stability Studies.
  • Collecting samples for Chemistry and Microbiological testing upon request or at predetermined intervals.
  • Maintain Chemical & Column inventory (Log in log out).
  • Waste disposal (Solid, HPLC waste, Glass waste etc.,)
  • Check safety showers, eye showers, clean water baths, sonicators and fume hoods
  • Analytical sample login and registration of samples in LIMS
  • Purchasing/receiving laboratory supplies
  • Collecting water for HPLC analysis as & when required.
  • Safe disposal of chemical solvent waste
  • Daily monitoring of lab equipment (refrigerators/freezers/balances).
  • General cleaning of some lab equipment as required (sonic baths, icemethanol bath, fumehoods, etc.)
  • Participate in the annual review of laboratory chemicals.
  • Calibration of general lab equipments like viscometer, pH, water baths etc.,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of science, preferably degree in Chemistry
years in a pharmaceutical company and a knowledge of lab procedures preferred

  • Good written and verbal communication skills with good command of English
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively in a teambased environment
  • Ability to lift lbs
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask

Working conditions

  • Generally, fairly pleasant surroundings. Occasional exposure to higher than normal noise levels, exposure to various chemicals used in the testing of raw materials, components and finished products. Occasional exposure to unpleasant odors resulting from testing procedures. Fairly level temperatures. Mixture of sitting, standing and walking.
