The Lab Coordinator will be responsible for the management and disposition of all outstanding NCRs, creating and maintaining finished product specs, sensory evaluation of finished products, and product CoA at the Richmond Hill facility.

Shift: 8 Hours Monday - Friday ; 6 months approximately


Roles & Responsibilities:


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure product specification sheets are updated with current formulation, packaging material, coding and analytical specifications
  • Maintain Finished Products Master List Index
  • Track/coordinate open NCRs. Communicate with offsite warehouse about nonconforming products on hold and responsible for disposition of open NCRS.
  • Assist with micro testing, pH testing and plating when required. Investigate reports of finished products micro test results. Verify hotroom charts and perform lab instrument calibration when needed.
  • Coordinate with warehouse retrieval/sending of samples.
  • Coordinate the testing and data collection of shelf life samples to ensure declared shelf life stability.
  • Perform sensory evaluation of products if required.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies for QC and Micro Lab. Place order, manage purchase requisition, receiving and storage of supplies.
  • Review and verification of Quality and sensory, SAP and Infinity Records
  • Collect and ship customer samples and issuance of COAs upon request
  • Obtain COA's for incoming ingredients and maintain COA file as required.
  • Perform Finished Product positive releases and FDA releases if needed
  • Maintain ATP swab results file
  • General housekeeping of the lab
  • All other duties as assigned

Skills, Experience and Education**- Strong analytical abilities

  • Good communication skills
  • Strong understanding of Inventory Control Techniques
  • Knowledge of bills of material required
  • University degree or associate degree in chemical engineering or other field is highly preferred

Minimum Experience Preferred (Number of years and type):

  • 1-3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Food manufacturing experience an asset
