  • The Donor Relations and Stewardship Specialist is responsible for the implementation and coordination of a comprehensive stewardship and donor relations program that engages and acknowledges Saskatchewan Polytechnic donors, fosters an exemplary donor relationship, and encourages increased philanthropic support of the institution. This position will work with Advancement staff to oversee gift and sponsorship acceptance and acknowledgement, provide meaningful donor recognition, impactful stewardship reporting, and engaging donor experiences.
  • Duties:
  • Develop and implement an integrated stewardship and donor relations strategy that targets all levels of giving as defined by the Advancement team (annual, leadership, major giving donors, students and alumni).
  • Manage and coordinate any campaignrelated launch or celebration events for donors.
  • Provide advice and support to Advancement staff in cultivation and stewardship assistance for individual donors and prospects.
  • Proactively seek donor engagement opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with local, national, and international Donor Relations professionals.
  • Ensure all programs align with Canada Revenue Agency legislation and the institutions fundraising policies and procedures.
  • Work in collaboration with the Leadership Giving Officer to steward individual and corporate sponsors.
  • Participate in donor engagement strategy planning meetings with donor solicitors to determine appropriate activity types and timing for each donor.
  • Meet regularly with senior Advancement leadership, Deans and other leaders to enhance current stewardship activities, and design new initiatives intended to accomplish a collaborative approach that invites input and participation, a commitment to stewardship planning that incorporates meaningful donor engagement and integrated stewardship planning and programming.
  • Work collaboratively with Communications & Marketing writing staff to provide clear, concise, and complete verbal and written information for stewardship communication tools at a level appropriate to the audience (eg. Students, donors, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively with Advancement staff to develop and implement strategies to attract additional contributions from existing donors.
  • Trach and maintain donor relations and stewardship activities to enhance the relationship and increase the likelihood of continued contributions.
  • Develop and manage a system to prioritize, prepare, send and track stewardship reports for gifts, as well as any special requests from donors and including producing all content for the reports.
  • Work collaboratively with Development team to track activity and any associated proposal requests.
  • Routinely monitor and assess processes to improve procedures, reports, tools, and controls in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Provide supervision, guidance and training to the Donor Relations and Stewardship team.
  • Serve as point of contact with contracted external service providers in support of Donor Relations and Stewardship mandate.
