Building Caretaker - Cedar Shores

We are currently recruiting for the position of Full-Time Maintenance Associate/Caretaker to assist the Site Manager of a large 260-unit condominium complex.

This position does not require the applicant to live on the property and does involve a variety of duties including but not limited to:

Routine maintenance of the buildings and grounds.
Safety and security checks of buildings and parking lots.
Routine maintenance of the pool and hot tub.
Checking Mechanical and Electrical room equipment and parkade gates.
Responding to emergencies and residents' concerns.
Other duties and projects as assigned.

Skills Needed:

-
"Handyperson"
competence with cleaning, carpentry, drywall repairs, and painting.

Knowledge of boiler systems.
Ability to identify electrical and plumbing issues.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Ability to deal with residents and tradespeople effectively and diplomatically.

Qualifications:

2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in strata or rental buildings.
General experience with plumbing, electrical and mechanical issues.
Physical strength for the tasks required.
Criminal record check.
Pool Operators certificate an asset (if you do not yet have this we would pay for you to obtain it) Employment offer contingent on successful attainment of pool operator certification.
Ability to work Tuesday-Saturday, with the possible shift to Monday-Friday, and to respond to afterhours emergencies.
Timely access to the site is an asset.

The salary range is $46,000-$50,000 and will be based on experience and qualifications.
