Hiring Unit:

  • Earth and Planetary Sciences_

Position Summary:

  • Assists in performing laboratory experiments and preparing samples for analysis.
  • Catalogs laboratory chemicals using established inventory database (MyLab).
  • Assists with organization and storage of rock collections and supplies.
  • Performs general lab maintenance tasks, e.g., washing glassware, chemical disposal.
  • Maintains lab work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Completes the relevant chemical safety training (e.g., WHMIS 2015).


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities- An undergraduate student with a science background- Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.

The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 3 on a scale of 0-4.
