Work location:


145 Dynamic Drive, Scarborough, M1V 5L8, near Steeles Ave East and Markham Road, accessible by TTC


Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (6:00 AM to 2:30PM, Monday to Friday one shift only), with occasional overtime.

Due to our growing business, we have one opening available in Compounding Department for an experienced Compounder.


Position Description
The Compounder will be responsible to process raw material according to the provided working order, which including:

  • Be able to compound all batches, with and without supervision. Package into specified bags or containers and on holding skids.
  • Review powders and Chemical Batch Sets and secure chemicals from staging area and/ or weigh. Ensure that all powder and chemical Batch Sets are fully and accurately completed.
  • Follow specified sampling procedures, sample finish batches upon completion, including samples. Label and take samples to the lab for testing. Make batch adjustments prescribed by the lab when necessary. Resample if required.
  • Maintain a tidy, clean and safe work area at all times while batching. Clean and sanitize equipment as required or assigned. Keep accurate log books on equipment. Have a working knowledge of inventory practices.

Working Environment
Similar environment found in most food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic products manufacturers, with unpleasant odors, dust and fumes in presence;

  • Frequent interactions with flavor chemicals and other chemical products
  • Presence of flammable, combustible, toxic and corrosive chemicals
  • Frequent lifting involved.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to lift and carry weights and move 45gallon drums from pallets.
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Have a good mathematical aptitude.
  • Understand and follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, Safety Standards, and follow plant policies and procedures.
  • Understand and have a working knowledge of WHMIS and MSDS.
  • Able to work overtime when required.
  • Basic computer data entry experiences.
  • Have a high level of positive work ethics and team building, understand and develop knowledge of continuous improvement.
  • Must be able to continuously learn to operate all compounding equipment in the department assigned.
  • Forklift License /experience an asset
  • Previous compounding experiences preferred

$21.00-$29.00 per hour
