Commissionaires BC is currently looking for security guards with a passion for customer service to work at the HMCS Discovery.


We have various full time shifts available:

  • Monday to Friday 3pm-11pm

Some of your responsibilities include:

a. Controlling access to DISCOVERY by people and vehicles;
b. Conducting security and fire patrols during silent hours;
c. Reporting any unauthorized activities to Site Supervisor and Facility Manager;
d. Reporting all noteworthy incidents to Facility Manager, Site Supervisor and Commissionaires Management.

e. Answering the main gate's telephone;
f. Checking both land-line and cell phone voice mails;
h. Securing gate when guard house is not manned;
i. Maintaining the log book IAW instructions provided;
j. Maintaining control of keys and ensuring the key log book is completed correctly; and

k. Conducting basic public relations.

l. Keeping Commissionaires Operations / Management aware of major incidents on Site.


Your Must - Haves

  • Valid BC Security Licence
  • Been resident in Canada for a minimum of 5 years for Government Clearance eligibility
  • OFA 1 Certificate

  • Physically able to perform assigned duties, including the ability to conduct extensive foot patrols
  • Fluent English written, verbal and reading skills
