About the Unit:


Yara Belle Plaine is a world class producer of nitrogen fertilizer that contributes to Yara International's mission to responsibly feed the world and protect the planet and the vision of a collaborative society, a world without hunger and a planet respected.

Belle Plaine is located in Saskatchewan, Canada 50 km west of Regina on highway #1.


Responsibilities:

The Laboratory Technician - Term will report to the Health, Environment, Safety and Quality (HESQ) Manager.

The technician will be accountable to perform lab testing as per the daily schedule as well as to complete ad hoc testing as required.


  • Ensure sample collection
  • Provide samples preparation
  • Perform quality control analyses
  • Maintain lab equipment
  • Report results to operators
  • Prepare and standardize reagents
  • Ensure results are recorded to spreadsheets
  • Perform regular housekeeping in order to provide a clean environment

Education, Experience & Skill:


  • Diploma in Chemical Technology, Bachelor of Science with a major in Chemistry, or equivalent combination of education and applicable experience.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Effective communication skills are required.
  • Laboratory experience
