The Opportunity
Alstar Group is currently looking for day and weekend shift
Warehouse Receivers/
Material Handlers to join the materials department at our Leduc shop location St; not transit accessible).

  • Unloading inbound freight carriers and ensuring accurate counts and product identification and locating of product in storage location
  • Examining articles for defects, dirt, and other detriments according to company policies
  • Checking material received against provided packing slip supplied by vendor
  • Labeling and marking all valves, fittings and pipe
  • Tracking materials being received
  • Performing kitting & job preparations

Working Conditions

  • You will work in a large manufacturing facility with other trades present
  • Outside/inside work
  • Physically demanding position

Requirements:


  • Excellent understanding of warehousing industry/principles is required
  • Wellrounded knowledge of pressure piping materials including valves, fittings, flanges and pipe is a must
  • Warehouse knowledge and experience is required handling organizing and storing of client materials
  • Experience with MTR's is required
  • Forklift experience is required. Must have a valid ticket (not internal company training)
  • CSTS09/2020 or Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation (CSO) ticket is mandatory
  • Strong attention to details and planning skills
  • Must be well organized and capable of maintaining daily records and logs
  • Adaptability to the
    high production environment
  • Team player and capable working individually when required
  • Ability to follow the standard procedures as well as bring new ideas to the table
  • Ability to lift up to 60lbs, work at heights, be agile and able to go on/off equipment, up/down ladders
