The Radisson Hotel and Convention Centre Edmonton is looking for a Full time Front Desk Agent.


At our hotel guests feel that we are their home away from their home because of our staff are
friendly, empathetic and are willing to go the extra mile for our guests.


Main duties and responsibilities includes but not limited to:

  • Register arriving guests and assign rooms; process reservations, group arrivals and departure;
  • Creating reservations via telephone, central/global reservations, correspondence and in person
  • Take, cancel and change room reservations;
  • Provide information on hotel facilities and services;
  • Arrange services required for guests with special needs;
  • Process wakeup calls;
  • Investigate and resolve complaints and claims;
  • Responsible for a cash float
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cashier reports and related forms; maintain occupancy statistics;
  • Customer service focus
  • Providing courteous and efficient telephone services including accurate message taking Handle guest inquiries/questions/reservations
  • Being knowledgeable of information regarding the hotel and surrounding area
  • Answering guest inquiries regarding rates, special packages, and general information accurately and in a timely manner
  • Accurate completion of all special billing requests
  • Responsible for check in and out of guests in a friendly welcoming manner.
  • Present statements of charges to departing guests and receive payment
  • Performing general office duties and any other duties assigned.
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our guests and coworkers by maintaining a knowledge of crisis and emergency procedures
  • Ensuring interdepartmental communication and cooperation in the interest of better guest satisfaction
  • Working shifts as business levels dictate
  • Work with mínimal supervision, clerical duties (i.e. faxing, filing, photocopying), keyboarding and perform light housekeeping and cleaning.)
  • All Front Desk Agents will be trained and expected to work in other areas of the Front Office when needed.

Qualifications:


  • Previous Front Office/Guest Service customer service experience an asset
  • Opera PMS and MS Office experience preferred
  • 1 year of experience as a Hotel Front Desk Clerk Preferred
  • Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required
  • Must be a responsible, selfmotivated and well organized individual
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral is a must
  • Professional appearance and manner

Physical Aspects of Position:


  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift

The shifts for front desk are 7 AM to 3 PM, 3 PM to 11 PM and night audit 11pm to 7am
Experience is great asset with Front office and reception as well as able to multitask and work under pressure. Communication and able to read/write and fluency in English is important. The successful applicant will have experience in customer relations, handling cash, and have an eye for detail. Must be available to work a variety of shifts to include days, evenings, weekends and stat holidays with the occasional night audit shift
