What you will be doing:
- Preparation of documentation for real estate transactions from beginning to end
- Reviewing contracts of purchase and sale, title, mortgage instructions and property tax information
- Preparing sale, purchase, and mortgage documents for residential conveyancing
- Dealing with mortgage payouts, review of title changes, and contracts additionally, preparing statement of adjustments and reconciliations
- Correspond with clients, lawyers, conveyancers, mortgage brokers, and real estate agents
- This position is a point of contact for clients and lawyers on file progress
- General administrative duties as required
What you will bring along:
- 5+ years of experience working in a conveyance legal assistant position
- Postsecondary education and certificate or diploma in the Legal Assistant/ Paralegal program and/or extensive experience within this field
- Strong communication skills in order to effectively correspond with clients, lawyers, conveyancers, mortgage brokers, and real estate agents
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and competitive data.
- Excellent judgment and creative problemsolving skills
