About the opportunity:

We are looking for someone to help us design and develop electronics systems for professional video projection systems.

You would be a key member of the development team working on the next generation of the brightest and highest resolution projectors in the world.

You will bring a strong desire to support the larger team in developing and delivering high quality board designs. As a key contributor to the PCB team you will drive the development and accuracy of the ECAD library. From initial part creation to DFA/DFM changes you will ensure parts are always up to date. You will also help with development of ECAD processes and changes to the tools.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the electrical and PCB team to build new symbols and footprints
Be the goto person for all part related ECAD matter
Ensure accurate part parametric data is entered into component database
Create PCB component padstacks and footprints according to IPC and company standards
Leverage web resources to locate appropriate step models for new library footrpints
Release parts and BOMs to PLM system
Development and documentation of ECAD Library standards
Implement efficiency and process improvement to existing practices
Implementation and management of DFA and DFM part changes
Assist with software installation and upgrades

The experience that you bring:

Degree in Electrical Engineering/Technologist/Technician or 5 years of related experience
Ability to work in a team environment with a focus on process improvements
Previous experience in library configuration and management
Knowledge of Cadence, OrCAD Capture, CIP and Allegro tools
Understanding of multilayer PCB fabrication and assembly processes
Ability to read and interpret data sheets and mechanical drawings
Understanding of IPC standards including IPC735
Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills

What will put you ahead:

Knowledge and ability to program in Skill and TCL/TK
Familiarity or experience with Software licensing
Knowledge of Mentor PADs or other ECAD tools
Experience performing PCB layouts
Component engineering and selection experience
