Our portfolio includes landmark locations in Vancouver, Toronto, and San Diego.We are looking for a motivated team player to join our team as Carpenter or Carpenter Helper.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- Understanding and complying with all Policies and Procedures
- Assist with concrete pouring and spread materials
- Provide support to concrete foreman with project layout
- Measurement and cut materials accordingly to build forms
- Responsible for operating electrical, airpowered, and regular hand tools during project.
- Provide support with fabrication during projects
- Carry out other duties as assigned
- Experience in working with Skydeck, and gang forms system, and framing
- Assist in directing the crew on multiple concrete related scopes while ensuring the safety of the crew and adherence to permit restrictions
- Construct, erect, install and strip wood and engineered formwork systems for columns, walls, suspended slabs, slab on grade and concrete stairs
- Install forms to footings, retaining walls, interior walls, columns, slabs and stairs.
- Stripping and removal of concrete formwork after concrete pours
- Residential framing background
Qualifications & Knowledge
- Completion of the 12th grade or equivalent, supplemented by technical courses related to the work, plus completion of a recognized apprenticeship in the trade
- 4 years related experience as a journeyman carpenter or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Preferred Valid Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia
- British Columbia Certificate of Qualification for Carpentry (T.Q.) or equivalent
- Ability to learn quickly, be flexible and adaptable, and capable to lift 50 lbs
- Strong work ethic
- Knowledge of finishing material installations
- Knowledge of workplace safety, safe lifting, handling procedures, safe operation of basic hand and power tools, and operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
