Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Work together with the SAH-H Steering Committee to build a strong fit between the Safe at Home Hamilton intervention and the Hamilton social service context
  • Develop a strong understanding of local contexts for program implementation including cross sectoral needs and resources
  • Engage multisystem stakeholders in the cocreation of the SAH-H pilot program model, identify their influence on program implementation, promote buyin to systems level change and work with stakeholders to remove barriers to their participation
  • Promote networking across sectors and opportunities for stakeholders to engage with each other in the use of evidence and data
  • Pool evidence/information and share resources to facilitate crosssectoral knowledge exchange and enable decision making across systems
  • Lead the codesign of tools, products, processes, governance structures, service models and policies related to the implementation of SAH
  • Facilitate designcentered activities that center the needs of end users and the lived expertise of individuals with experiences of IPV and housing precarity
  • Support and coordinate the activities of the research team, including coaching and supporting new staff and sessional students as they gather, synthesize and present evidence to system stakeholders
  • Working within antioppressive frameworks to develop and implement effective outreach and community engagement strategies and ensure the SAH Steering Committee and the interventions it develops are representative and take into consideration a broad range of experiences, demographics and perspectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health or Social Science field (preferably with 5 years related experience in designing and delivering complex programs and promoting cross sectoral collaboration), or demonstrable equivalent combination of specialized education and experience. Preferably Master's Degree (with 3 years related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate different perspectives and types of knowledge, create space for new ideas to emerge and facilitate collaborative problem solving.
  • Experienced in group facilitation techniques.
  • Experience creating and providing educational materials and delivering dynamic and interactive trainings
  • Experience in the design, implementation and monitoring of new programs and policies inmultistakeholder settings
  • Experience with complex case management, risk assessments, safety planning and systems navigation in VAW/GBV settings
  • Experience coordinating or participating in Hamiltonbased cross sector partnerships (ex. tables, networks, coalitions, action groups etc.,)
  • Experience with coaching, mentoring and leading diverse teams towards a common goal
  • Considerable experience in one or more of these areas: criminology, criminal justice, family and criminal court system navigation, housing transition support and advocacy
  • Familiarity with relevant programs and legislations (ex. Residential Tenancy Act, The Family Law Act, Housing Services Act, Family and Criminal Court systems, Social Support Programs & income benefits)
  • Experience with frontline or policy work in issues including health, homelessness, substance use, violence, harm reduction, mutual aid, employment, education, peer support, and/or antipoverty.
  • Considerable experience in project coordination including the definition of project purpose and objectives, project activities, milestones and deliverables, monitoring and tracking progress, and communications with stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven ability to learn new skills.
  • Superior problemsolving skills and ability prioritize

  • Good personal and program time/detail management skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
