Core6 Environmental is currently looking for a full-time, permanent
Junior or Intermediate Hydrogeologist to join our team in the Vancouver/Lower Mainland region of British Columbia. The position is suited for individuals who are looking to work on a wide variety of physical and contaminant hydrogeological projects and are willing to learn and be mentored by our team of senior and intermediate hydrogeologists.

Our two senior hydrogeologists have a combined 50 years' experience and will be directly working with you to develop your career.

You will work on a wide variety of projects, including contaminant characterization and transport to support site investigations, risk assessment and remediation.

You will also work on physical hydrogeology projects including dewatering design and implementation, aquifer testing, water supply and surface water/groundwater interaction.

Project work may also include geologic mapping and acid rock drainage and metals leaching assessments.

Typical tasks and activities to expect within this role include all types of hydrogeological field work including installation of wells; logging of rock core and soil types; collection of environmental quality samples; and directing and overseeing drilling contractors.

You will also be involved in the detailed analysis of data, development of conceptual site models, and may carry out groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling.

Knowledge and experience with analyzing the effects of climate change on groundwater resources and knowledge of modeling software such as MODFLOW would be assets for the position.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Theoretical and practical knowledge of geology and geologic mapping, physical and contaminant hydrogeology including drilling/installing of monitoring wells, hydraulic conductivity testing, development of conceptual site models, groundwater/contaminant transport and modeling.
• Master's degree in Hydrogeology (preferred but not required) or Bachelor degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or Earth Sciences. Course work must include geology and physical and contaminant hydrogeology;
• Eligibility for registration as a Professional Geologist or Engineer in BC;
• Strong, Clear and Concise Communication and Written Skills;
• Curiosity to learn and gain technical knowledge from your peers and mentors and confident with sharing thoughts and ideas for improvement;
• Valid Class 5 drivers licence with access to a vehicle;
• Willing to travel and when necessary work overtime to meet project schedules; and
• Confident and capable of working following tasks and understanding desired outcomes.

Salary:
$50,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
