Under the direction of the Supervisor, the Expeditor is responsible for acting as a liaison for the end users on site, dealing with the vendors, dispatch and receiving Teams.
Key Focuses:
- Monitor PO's and their delivery dates, ensure notes and dates are updated and the end user is informed of any changes
- Contact suppliers to confirm receipt of open purchase orders, monitors shipments in progress and updates the SAP system as appropriate
- Place and evaluate purchase requests for adherence to company policy and procedures
- Track lost or missshipped purchase orders by contacting suppliers and/or freight carriers and follow up to resolve open issues
- Research problems with backorders and outstanding items that are low in inventory and resolves related issues with suppliers, buyers or business units or potential receiving issues
- Monitor ontime delivery performance of suppliers. Report and resolve supplier nonconformance related to delivery
- Perform traffic and customs role where required & contribute to the Goods in Transit reporting requirements
- Liaison with warehouse, vendors and procurement personnel (Accounts Payable and Purchasing) regarding receipt / shipment
- Perform any related and/or additional duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- secondary education are an asset.
- A valid Class 5 License (or equivalent) is required, along with a satisfactory 3 year Drivers Abstract.
- Knowledge in MS Office, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook are required.
- At least 24 years of pervious dispatch or expeditor experience in a Logisticsw, Warehouse, or Transportation environment will be required.
- Use of telecommunications equipment, mobile phone, desk computer and peripherals.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including good oral, written communication, and listening skills
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and multitask, as well as work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrates continuous learning through crosstraining, learning new skills, and refreshing prior skills.
- Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, including personal safety, safety of coworkers, and the protection of FMGOC and client's property.
Monday to Friday (8 hrs/ day)
