June 24 to August 30, 2024

Are you looking to gain valuable leadership and team-building skills this summer? Rooks to Cooks is recruiting
Summer Camp Assistant Volunteers to work at various Cooking Camp locations in the GTA Each year we rely on the valuable help of our volunteers to provide a fun and enjoyable experience for our campers.

Our volunteers will work alongside the kitchen assistant and counsellor to gain valuable skills and experiences related to the culinary, childcare, and education industries.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist with the preparation of student and demo _mise en place_ (premeasured ingredients for recipes)
  • Assist with receiving and organizing food inventory
  • Assist with the cooking and finishing of student recipes (in the oven)
  • Act as additional supervision for students during recipe execution and break time
  • Assist with the maintenance of space cleanliness and organization (dish washing, sweeping, mopping, reorganization of materials)
  • Assist with the planning and execution of break time games and activities
  • Provide mentorship and support to campers

Dates/Hours:


  • Various Weeks available between: June 2
  • August 30, 2024 (minimum 2week commitment)
  • Days needed: Monday to Friday
  • Mondays: 8am 4pm


  • Tuesdays

  • Thursdays: 9am 5pm
  • Fridays: 12pm 7pm

Job Information for Student and Adult Volunteers:

  • Student volunteers must be at least 14 years old.
  • Volunteers over the age of 18,

MUST HAVE:
Police Clearance for Vulnerable Sectors (children).

  • Students we will provide a Volunteer Hours Letter outlining your position and number of hours of volunteer service provided.
