and Shoulder Program—MULTIPLE PART-TIME CONTRACTS WITH PAID VACATION

Position Summary:
As a key member of the Couchiching Family Health Team (CFHT), and an integral part of an
interdisciplinary health care team, the major role of the job incumbent will use a variety of
physical techniques and therapies to treat and rehabilitate patients who are suffering from
disorders and/or injuries of the back, neck, shoulder or musculoskeletal system. These
techniques and therapies will differ depending on the occupation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assess a patient's medical condition by reviewing their medical history, listening to
- Review previous imaging reports and educate patient on relevant findings
- Conduct a thorough biomechanical assessment, including any necessary orthopaedic
- Provide musculoskeletal soft tissue therapies
- Provide medical acupuncture for the therapeutic purpose of modulating pain (if
- Advise patients on health and lifestyle issues, such as exercise, nutrition, and sleep
- Refer patients to other health care professionals, if needed
- Formulate and communicate medical diagnoses
- Determine the need for, and order from, an approved list of screening and diagnostic
- Provide health education and health promotion information to individuals and
- Consult with physician in accordance with the standards for consultation with
- Ensure all notes and patient charts are updated in a timely manner
- Prepare quarterly reports and monitor daily statistical data to ensure statistics are
- Participate in CFHT and regional committees as needed
- Provide education on physical therapy issues to physicians and service providers
- Maintain and upgrade knowledge and skills
- Maintain current knowledge of policies and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information
- Work in compliance with Health and Safety laws adhering to safe work practices and
- O ther duties as required
Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of an interprofessional team,
- Exceptional documentation skills and attention to detail
- A positive and professional attitude
- Excellent time management skills with an ability to multitask and effectively set
- Knowledge in current, evidence based methods and practise of primary care delivery
- Excellent oral/written/interpersonal skills
Education/Specific Job Requirements:
- Current registration and license with the College of Chiropractors/Physiotherapists of
- Doctor of Chiropractic Degree or Physiotherapy Degree
- Current registration with Ontario Chiropractic/Physiotherapists Association an asset
- Certification in CPR (BLS-C)
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings if required
- Police Record/Vulnerable Record Check
- It is a condition of your employment that you receive the necessary vaccinations to
recommended by governmental and public health authorities from time to time
Experience:
Chiropractor or Physiotherapist
