Highways Project Superintendent to support project opportunities with Neetah Construction. This position will be site based (within Saskatchewan), however, the office headquarters is in Regina, SK.

Job Summary:

The Highways Project Superintendent is an integral member of the project team responsible for supporting the delivery of Road - Construction projects of varying size and complexity.


As Highways Project Supervisor/Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing all operational elements of Road and Highway Maintenance Projects in Saskatchewan, working in collaboration with the Project Manager to deliver high quality projects on time and on budget.


Scope of Responsibilities:
Will include all project related activities as directed, by including the following responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in managing crews, movements, daily operations, traffic, trucking, and procurement on highway maintenance/repair projects. This will include initial mobilization and set up of construction sites, scheduling and allocating personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Optimize operations by effectively managing/coordinating the daily and weekly activities of foremen, crew members and equipment as per the project plan schedule. Provide coaching and training as required.
  • Provide timely administration, planning and communications/reporting to the Project Manager.
  • Monitor and ensure safety standards are met and adhered to in accordance with company policy and legislative requirements.
  • As the key frontline communicator, ensure ongoing and timely communication with the Project Manager. Develop working relationships and communicate with Client representatives. Coordinate daily with the project management team and work toward long term planning.
  • Manage the daily person, equipment, time, and internal submittals.
  • Coordinate equipment usage and fueling needs; manage equipment maintenance tasks. Manage the supply and asset procurement.
  • Coordinate traffic control and inspections in accordance with work procedures.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership and experience in road building; including highways
maintenance and repair, i.e. joint and crack sealing, surface repair, seal coating, equipment

and asphalt/patching materials, traffic accommodation, etc. Paving experience is an asset.

  • An engineering or technical diploma/degree is an asset but not required.
  • Related highways/paving/pavement repair training is essential.
  • Background and knowledge of managing teams, equipment operation and maintenance,
safety, quality control, materials management, trucking.

  • Knowledge of materials, methods and equipment involved in the construction/repair of
highways and roads.

  • Knowledge of traffic accommodation and management plans.
  • Knowledge of various pavement repair designs and specifications and when to effectively
