If you are looking for a dynamic and challenging work environment with a fun, diverse and dedicated team, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) and Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council's (NSERC) is the place for you We are growing our team and looking for dedicated professionals.


As Meeting and Travel Planner, you will be responsible for the provision of meeting, travel and event planning services and logístical arrangements for the NSERC and the SSHRC in compliance with the Financial Administration Act (FAA), Treasury Board Secretariat of Canada policy instruments and the National Joint Council (NJC) Travel Directive.

Education

Secondary school diploma or PSC approved alternatives;
A certificate or diploma in tourism would be a considerable asset

Foreign Credential Validation against Canadian Standards

Experience

Experience in providing services in the coordination of travel or events
Experience in providing advice and support to clients and management
Experience in interpreting and communicating policies, procedures, and controls
Experience in planning hybrid events, which include both an in-person and a virtual component, considered a strong asset
Experience in providing services in a government department or agency is considered an asset

Knowledge

Sound knowledge of Treasury Board's Directive on Travel, Hospitality, Conferences and Events Expenditures (THCEE) and the National Joint Council (NJC) Travel Directive
Sound knowledge of spreadsheet software (excel)
Knowledge of the STS/HRG travel management system is considered an asset

Abilities

Ability to plan, prioritize and organize multiple meetings and travel arrangements in an effective and efficient manner
Ability to recognize issues, propose viable options and recommend changes
Ability to work under pressure using time management skills while in a multi-tasking environment
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
