We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Metal Building Estimator to join our team.

As a Metal Building Estimator, you will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs and materials required for metal building projects, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and in accordance with client specifications.

You will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by analyzing project requirements, conducting take-offs, and preparing comprehensive estimates to support successful project planning and execution.


Responsibilities:


  • Cost Estimation: Perform detailed cost estimations for metal building projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs, utilizing industrystandard estimating software and tools.
  • Take-Offs: Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project documentation to extract necessary information for performing material takeoffs and quantifying project requirements accurately.
  • Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive and detailed bid proposals, including pricing breakdowns, project timelines, and scope of work documents, in collaboration with the project management team.

Subcontractor Coordination:

Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to gather accurate pricing information and negotiate favorable terms to support cost-effective project execution.


  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and uptodate project documentation, including estimates, takeoffs, correspondence, and any other relevant records.
  • Cost Tracking: Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction phase, identifying any discrepancies or potential cost overruns and recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Estimating Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance the estimating process, incorporating industry best practices, new technologies, and lessons learned from previous projects.
  • Client Communication: Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and project managers to address any questions, provide clarifications, and present estimates in a clear and professional manner.

Qualifications:


  • Education: Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Metal Building Estimator or similar role in the construction industry, with a track record of successfully estimating and bidding on metal building projects.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of metal building construction techniques, materials, and industryspecific codes and regulations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, MBS), as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Analytical Abilities: Excellent numerical and analytical skills to accurately interpret project requirements, perform takeoffs, and estimate costs effectively.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential risks, discrepancies, or gaps in project documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present estimates, negotiate pricing, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Time Management: Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problemsolving and critical thinking skills to identify alternative solutions and make informed recommendations.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and establish positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.
