The Days IC/Receiving Manager is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient management of warehouse operations and providing leadership, direction and guidance to the warehouse team.

The position will focus on maintaining and continuously improving our inventory and receiving operations while demonstrating the GFS Cornerstone Values and adhering to the company policies and procedures and Health & Safety and Quality Assurance rules and regulations.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer Service
  • Identify customers' needs, clarify and confirm customer requests, offer options that meet both customer and company needs, and follow through on requests.
  • Accuracy
  • Transpose information and numbers accurately, edit and proofread written material, and confirm transactions are accurate prior to completion.
  • Leadership
  • Participate actively and create team goals, help team members to complete tasks, provide team members with constructive feedback, provide mentorship to team members, and delegate workload as needed.
  • Staff Management
  • Assesses staffing requirements for the warehouse and recruits all levels of staff for the warehouse in conjunction with Human Resources, handles disciplinary problems within the warehouse by investigating the problem with all parties involved, following positive discipline procedures, identifies and implements methods for recognizing staff, and determines longterm skill requirements for the department while developing staff accordingly.
  • Preserves the GFS culture, including maintaining open and direct relationships between employees and leadership.
  • Project planning
  • Identify project scope and project steps, determine resources (human and equipment) required, determine realistic deadlines by which steps are to be completed, document and chart projects and describe steps, timelines, and resources required.
  • Identifies total costs per case and plans expenditures based on forecasted sales, works with other departments to determine internal costing of services, and examines and implements methods for reducing costs in all aspects of warehousing to achieve a continual reduction in costs per case.
  • Assists in the preparation of an annual warehouse budget, monitors the budget on a monthly basis, and identifies variances in actual costs vs budgeted costs and identifies methods for reducing costs.
  • Assists in the design and implementation of company standards and protocols including company wide SOPs.
  • Maintains physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
  • All other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five years or more of experience in a warehouse or logístical management role.
