Job Summary:


Reporting to the Superintendent of Maintenance, this position is responsible for providing leadership to the trade's teams within the treatment plants and is the gate keeper for all proactive and reactive work processes in their area of responsibility.

The role is responsible for leading the team towards excellence in safety, maintenance management, reliability and problem prevention.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Create a positive work environment that promotes mutual respect, engagement and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Champion Maintenance Management and Reliability Engineering good practice
  • Ensure Trade staff and Contract partners have the necessary skills, training and supports to safely and effectively execute work on time.
  • Ensuring compliance obligations are always achieved, related to, but not limited to, Maintenance and repair work within Industrial establishments for Municipal water and wastewater treatment process
  • Responsible for the assignment of work to staff and contractors and Monitoring to completion, time tracking on work orders and the quality of the information provided on service reports
  • Monitor maintenance expenditures and ensure that budget guidelines are met
  • SAP PM and MM
  • Asset Data and Information: Approve all Notifications, ensure notification and work order data and information is accurate, ensure all data entered by requesters and trade professionals meet the needs of all Maintenance management and relaibility engineering processes.
  • Asset Care program: Facilitate weekly Asset care meetings to develop future work schedules and ensure work plans are high quality so that work can be completed right first time.

Maintainability Program:
Provide daily leadership and be responsible for eliminating risk, performance losses and unplanned cost, and be responsible for work that directly improves equipment meantime between failures (MTBF) and meantime between repairs (MTRR)

  • Supervision and support of activities across a diverse group of unionized staff requiring effective performance management, communication, dispute resolution, and negotiation skills in accordance with Corporate Polices and Collective Agreement language

Skills & Qualifications:


Essential

  • A skilled trade certificate of qualification, technical diploma or degree with a minimum of five (5) years' experience supervising a large cross functional Maintenance team in an industrial setting.
  • The incumbent must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience related to work planning and control including, planning, scheduling and monitoring of maintenance activities and ensuring performance targets are achieved.
  • Excellent collaboration, team building, organizational, leadership and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate professionalism, tact and political acuity when interacting with stakeholders.

Preferred

  • A working knowledge of maintenance management, asset management, reliability centered maintenance (RCM), Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) with certifications, AMP, MMP or CMRP.

Working Conditions

  • Travel within Halton will be required.
  • Incumbent will be required to serve on standby and respond to after hour callouts and provide leadership in emergencies and in adverse conditions, as specified by Public Work Practices.
  • The incumbent will be required to provide a copy of their driver's license by their first day of employment.
  • Incumbent must provide their own transportation.
