_We are recruiting for a Planner/Scheduler for our facility in Cambridge, Ontario.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain manufacturing weekly production schedules based on the manufacturing master schedule.
- Ensure material is picked and staged to support the shop schedules.
- Provide input to the manpower planning process based on current shop load.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to shop supervisors and management regarding facility loading and alternate work centers.
- Develop and communicate work lists at critical facilities, research status of job and expedite upstream activities as necessary to support schedules.
- Budget allocation and support of contract changes through project life cycle.
- Produce recovery schedules, review with shop personnel, communicate status changes and integrate with the overall shop plan as required.
- Ensure the timely availability of materials to support schedules, review work orders and materials, issue and schedule purchase requisitions and coordinate with Supply Management as required.
- Help resolve shop issues and identify potential capacity issues in order to reduce risk and exposure.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Postsecondary diploma or equivalent in operations planning, shop floor control or production and inventory control.
- Sound knowledge of planning and estimating principles acquired through 3 to 5 years experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of critical path scheduling and dispatch list scheduling preferred.
- Ability to monitor schedule performance through earned value, percent complete and hours absorbed.
- Proficiency in P6 (latest version) is a definite requirement.
- Proficiency in MS Excel. Experience with SAP is a definite asset.
- Working knowledge of mechanical drawings.
- Proven problem solving and organization skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
