Description

Working in a fast-paced environment that is rapidly innovating and revolving around the robotics consultancy industry, the UAV Technician will diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair our aircrafts as well as develop and implement testing protocols.


The UAV Technician is a skilled professional capable of in-depth trouble shooting and problem solving with an eye for detail and precision combined with efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, maintain, troubleshoot and repair Unmanned Systems (Drones)
  • Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair electrical instruments or testing equipment
  • Assemble electrical and electronic systems according to provided data
  • Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions and record results
  • Modify electrical devices, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations
  • Piece work assembly of components using hand tools
  • Soldering and assembly of PCB and wiring harnesses
  • Material picking for production assembly
  • Installation of software and firmware and electronic components
  • Painting and finishing of components
  • Operation of CNC machinery (onsite training provided)
  • Assist with inventory controls and management
  • Shop cleanup and organization
  • General tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree/Diploma or Certificate in technical disciplines preferred
  • 1+ years of experience as an electronics repair or assembly technician
  • Experience in building and repairing drones
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnosis skills
  • Knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments
  • Basic to intermediate soldering skills
  • Transport Canada RPAS Advanced license an asset

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to bend, stretch, kneel and squat to perform repairs and inspections
  • Ability to operate machinery, power tools, motor vehicles or heavy equipment
  • Ability to regularly move up to 50 lbs in all directions (move and carry equipment)
