The Duplicator / Finisher Machine Operator is responsible for the production and finishing of printed materials for internal and external customer requirements.

Complying with Hospital policy and best business practice, prioritize and efficiently produce finished printed materials.


DUTIES INCLUDE:


  • Timely production of print jobs on high speed computerized duplicator(s) that meet the high quality standards customers expect, while determining the most cost effective manner in which to maximize productivity. Monitoring machines during print run and making all necessary adjustments as required.
  • Produce high quality print job finishing utilizing various pieces of finishing machinery/equipment. To complete print jobs produced by the duplicator and presses, completing customer requirements such as binding, padding, collating, booklet making, folding, scoring, perforating, numbering, trimming, and packaging. Monitoring machines during finishing process and making all necessary adjustments as required.
  • The operator is required to maintain all equipment in good operating condition, provide handson basic maintenance to the equipment. Including contacting vendors when preventative maintenance or repairs are required.
  • Ensuring that adequate supplies are kept on hand to do routine print jobs and replenishing as necessary. Request nonroutine supplies to accomplish customer requirements in a timely manner.
  • Calculates and records cost per print or finishing job on the duplicator(s) or finishing equipment. Assists and prepares internal and external monthly billings when required.
  • Ensures that work areas are kept free of debris and in a clean, neat, safe condition at all times. May be required to deliver print jobs within hospital.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma
  • 2 years' experience within the last 5 years in a printing environment with the operation of high speed duplicator systems.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Selfmotivated
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, courteously and tactfully at all levels.
  • Strong commitment to a team environment and customer service excellence.
  • Perform front line maintenance of duplicator / finishing machine(s).
  • Basic knowledge of computers as it relates to the operation of duplicators.
  • Must be familiar with desktop publishing document handling techniques, such as, Word, JPG, and PDF files.
  • Basic knowledge of Word and Excel. Testing will be required.
  • Proven ability to attend work regularly.
  • Satisfactory criminal reference check and vulnerable sector search required.
