Duties & Responsibilities

Benefits Related Activities:

  • Oversee the administration of group insurance plans for all Ontario pay groups.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry for all benefit enrollment forms, plan member changes, and terminations.
  • Promptly following up on outstanding forms due from new associates to the plan in order to ensure associates receive their benefits accurately, ontime and receive benefits enrollment details.
  • Ensure regular communication of pay change communication to benefit providers.
  • Regularly review billing statements for accuracy and reconciliation with payroll. Resolve any discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our internal associates and corporations employees with respect to benefits inquiries and requests.
  • Participate in the annual renewal process.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to streamline claims administration and enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations related to associate enrollment in the company's benefits plan.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices related to employee benefits.

Other payroll/HR Administration Duties:

  • Track and review monthly Ontario Security Guard Licenses, Work Permits and Study permits to ensure all associates have valid credentials.
  • Prepare T2200 Forms for Ontario associates.
  • Track and ensure CMRAO compliance.
  • Set up and deactivate property codes in our system of record.
  • Update reporting relationships in ADP Workforce now for salaried associates.
  • Prepare employment verification letters and Bill 7s for property management and services associates in a timely manner.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in group insurance benefits administration with a focus on the Canadian market.
  • Experience using ADP software systems (such as Vantage or Workforce Now) is considered an asset.
  • Superior client service skills.
  • Post Secondary degree required. Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related discipline, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian requirements surrounding regulatory benefits requirements.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
